Motion Garage Doors — Your Garage. Our Motion
1. Overview
At Motion Garage Doors, we stand behind the quality of our products and workmanship. Because most garage doors, parts, and related materials are custom-ordered or job-specific, our return policy is structured to be fair, transparent, and aligned with supplier rules and installation realities.
This policy explains when returns, refunds, or exchanges may be approved and how they are handled.
2. Custom & Special-Order Products (Non-Returnable)
Most garage doors, panels, glass options, tracks, springs, and hardware packages are custom-sized or special-order items. These items are:
- Non-returnable
- Non-refundable after the order is placed with the manufacturer
- Non-cancellable once production has started
This includes:
- Custom-size garage doors
- Doors with selected colors, finishes, or window options
- Special-order hardware or track configurations
- Commercial or industrial door components
Customers approve specifications before ordering. Once approved, the order is considered final.
3. Standard Stock Parts (Returnable with Conditions)
Select unused, standard stock parts may be eligible for return if all conditions below are met:
- Return requested within 14 days of purchase
- Item is unused and not installed
- Item is in original packaging and condition
- Proof of purchase is provided
- Item is not electrical or programmed equipment
Approved returns may be subject to:
- A restocking fee (15–30%)
- Supplier restocking charges
- Shipping and handling deductions
4. Openers & Electrical Components
Garage door openers, control boards, sensors, and other electrical items are:
- Non-returnable once opened or installed
- Covered instead by the manufacturer’s warranty
If a defect is suspected, we will assist with manufacturer warranty processing.
5. Installed Products & Completed Work
Once a product has been installed or service has been completed:
- Products are not eligible for return
- Labor and installation charges are non-refundable
If there is a workmanship concern, we will inspect and address valid installation-related issues under our labor warranty.
6. Damaged or Incorrect Items
If you receive an item that is damaged or incorrect:
- Notify us within 48 hours of delivery
- Provide photos and description of the issue
- Do not install the product
We will review and, if confirmed, arrange:
- Replacement parts, or
- Repair, or
- Supplier claim processing
7. Order Cancellations
Orders may be cancelled only if production has not started and the supplier accepts cancellation.
If cancellation is approved:
- Administrative and supplier fees may apply
- Deposits may be partially non-refundable depending on supplier terms
8. Deposits
Deposits are required for most door orders and scheduled installations.
Deposits are:
- Applied to your project cost
- Non-refundable once materials are ordered
- Non-refundable once production begins
9. Warranty vs Return
Many products are covered by manufacturer warranties rather than return eligibility.
We will help customers:
- Identify warranty coverage
- Submit claims when applicable
- Coordinate replacement parts when approved
Warranty terms vary by manufacturer and product line.
10. How to Request a Return Review
To request a return review, please contact us with:
- Customer name and address
- Invoice number
- Product details
- Reason for return
- Photos (if applicable)
Requests are reviewed case by case based on product type and supplier rules.
11. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect supplier requirements and operational practices. The version in effect at the time of purchase applies.
